Another daft and unreasonable planning decision. Looking along the road, this is a proposal to extend the rear of the chalet-bungalow with the flat dormers illustrated below. As we can see there are substantial two-storey houses on each side, this application does not alter the scale of the front elevation, they have just added pitched roofs to the dormers.
The existing and proposed site plans below show a long double-storey extension to the rear of the property but looking at the houses on each side and the sizes of the gardens, the reasons for refusal refer to over-bearing on Meadow house to the north, which appears to have been through a similar extension process previously. This proposal will have a negligible effect on the neighbours. Accepting that the proposed additions are unimaginative and dull, they can’t be seen from anywhere, there are a lot more contentious schemes out there that are granted approval. Looks like the applicants need to reduce the scale of the part of the building near Meadow View and a revised application with a better design will be successful.
