Silverstone is a middle-sized English Village with a population of circa 2300. The nearest Town is Towcester, and the larger local conurbations include Northampton and Milton Keynes. it is not surprising therefore that there is a wide variety of houses to chose from, depending upon travel distance to the circuit.
A cursory look at Rightmove indicates a reasonably high number of new-build properties on the market, with a surprising amount of 4-bed houses available at circa £650,000. These houses are generally around 1750 sqft Gross internal floor area, which makes the price per sqft £371, with Milton Keynes being around £320 per sqft and in Northampton around £290 per sqft. Clearly around Silverstone you are paying the premium of living closer to the circuit and the countryside.
Our pick of the higher priced options is this 5 bed Barn Conversion at £950,000. The internal spaces are large with vaulted ceilings providing a spacious feel, and albeit as ever with barn conversions window opening are limited, the triple garage and countryside location is ideal for storing your Ferrari's and Maclaren's safely and getting the revs up without upsetting too many neighbours.
Moving down to a little more affordable option, we like the opportunities presented by this 1970's detached 4-bed house, with ample space at the side to build your perfect dream garage, maybe with a fully glazed fireproof wall allowing you to sit and admire your prize automobile form the comfort or your own home.
Or at the budget end of the Market, maybe this 1970's Bungalow in need of renovations, very simple and stylish in its time (although the dodgy porch needs to go!) and brilliantly located on a road called Graham Hill, named after one of Britain's truly great racing drivers.
