As the Barbie Movie prepares to take the world by storm in a quirky twist AD Magazine has published an in-depth review of the Barbie Dream House Interior Design. Architectural Digest is a California based publication which was launched in 1920, just at the outset of motion pictures and so if anyone has the credentials to comment then it is AD. Much like PAPAUK, AD is the resource to find a professional designer and is a highly-respected leading US publication.
Amazingly, the Barbie Dreamhouse appears to be an English structure, reported to have been constructed at Warner Bros Studio near London, which we can only assume is linked to Harry Potter World. We are however not quite sure of the integrity of the design assessment, which cites 'an international run on the fluorescent shade of Rosco paint'. The house has no walls and no doors, great for a California location but not quite a glamourous just outside Watford in November. It is great to see the integration of curved slides instead of stairs and abundant natural ventilation, but to be honest the landscaping is meagre, luckily Warner Brothers have managed to avoid the onset of the 10% Biodiversity On-Site Net Gain mandatory in this country from the autumn of 2023. It does appear however that it won't be difficult to bring car charging points from the abundant street lighting columns :-).
